More shots of Westport from the master - Pawel Sadowski

Pawel is an amazingly accomplished photographer - great equipment, full mastery of such, and an extraordinary eye.  Thought you might enjoy seeing these shots, and understanding a little bit more why we've grown to so love the town.  Pawel will be coming back up to the cottage on Wednesday - had him up for dinner a week ago - to grill up some proper Polish kielbasa (with proper Polish mustard).  I'm excited.  Candee's excited to avoid the kielbasa - we'll be grilling up a piece of salmon for her.  Sounds like a great Irish Fourth of July.  BTW, be thinking happy anniversary to the Duffys on that day.  They'll most likely be taking a romantic jaunt through some of the beautiful areas in which they courted - Cong Abbey, Ashford Castle, Lough Mask...

In seeing these pictures, I messaged Pawel with my first thoughts - from the Billy Joel song Piano Man - "Man what are you doing here...?"

BTW, great sadness in Co Mayo.  The county's Gaelic football team has been knocked out for the season - an early exit for such a talented team - a team that has been in the All-Ireland Championship
Match four out of the last six years.  The wisdom will be that time has passed by this group of lads.  Most likely it will be a re-building time and younger players will be expected to step up to replace these valiant warriors.  Just so very sad that such a deserving group of superb athletes couldn't close the deal.  Co Mayo has had the "Footballer of the Year" both of the last two years - Andy Moran and Lee Keegan, and this team has the county's all-time highest scorer - Cillian O'Conner.  So close so many times in the last few years - tie matches, losses by a point, a litany of what could have been...  But still, Maigh Eo Abu!
