A truly truly fine day

What a day today.  Perhaps one of the finest days in all our visits.  There was nothing but blue sky wherever one looked.  And even on a long drive to Achill Island, the fine weather held.  I'm not sure I've ever seen the water look as blue.

This time of year, the average daytime high is 66 F.  Today it was 76 and tomorrow it's expected to rise to 82.  We're really not much distance from reaching the all time record for July.

Thanks to Candee for kicking me out of the house to play nine holes at the Westport Golf Club this morning.  I hadn't played since Thursday week - fully eleven days!  Hit a few good shots, but truly enjoyed being out early in the fresh breeze, in beautiful surroundings.  May do it again tomorrow - only a week to go.  We'll be headed to Dublin next Tuesday and will fly home on Thursday.  Good grief, can we take it?!?

Achill Island.  Oh, you're probably wondering if I stopped by The Beehive in search of the mixed berry crumble they were missing in my visit 5 weeks ago.  Well yes, I did.  Had a piece of the fantastic crumble - as good as I remembered - and even got a portion as takeaway to be savored later in the week.  Mr. Fatso here  :(
