Ballyconneely

Today was extraordinary.  A round at the magnificent Connemara Golf Links in Ballyconneely, hard against the Atlantic and about a hour and half south of Westport.  A strenuous walk (lord knows, you wouldn't take a buggy), up and down the hills and climbing to stunning views at the many extremely elevated tees.  A mixed bag of golf shots, enough well struck shots to fill the memory, but not so many as to populate an impressive scorecard.  And was the wind howling!  The pins on the greens were straining to maintain their height and the flags were snapping in the 20 - 25 kph winds.  A memorable day on this hallowed ground.  A hearty and necessary dinner in Clifden and we were all proud to stay awake on the ride home.  That sun and wind you know...  Thanks to Marion and Padraic for a great day.
