A few quiet days

We've been taking it easy since our great day at the match on Saturday.  Noon Mass on Sunday, never more than a half-hour even though the church is packed.  And always a good message in the oh-so-brief homily.  A ride into Castlebar to sort out our broadband service.  A delectable lunch at The Creel at Westport Quay.  Really taking our sweet time doing things.  It is so much more relaxed knowing that we'll be here for seven weeks instead of the normal three.  We've always packed so much activity into those previous visits and felt the pressure to do and see everything.  Much better pace this time.

We've even planned a bit of a side trip - we'll be headed down to Killarney Monday and Tuesday of next week, and are hopeful that we'll be able to meet up with Candee's cousin Mary in Cork on Wednesday.  Killarney contains a large national park and some astoundingly beautiful lakes and mountains, McGillicuddy's Reeks among them.  We'll stay at Murphy's Pub and B and B, as recommended by our previous visitors, Pat and Paul Camber.

And, of course, I've played a bit of golf and we've done a bit of bikeriding.  Great stuff.

Tonight we head to Galway to attend the play The Weir by the playwright Conor McPherson.  It was a great hit when it played on Broadway.  So a good night ahead with dinner and a play with Padraic and Marion.

On another front, I am sad to report that I've not heard from Vice-President Biden as of yet regarding our golf match.  I'm just certain he'll be in touch...

Dinner last night.  Smoked salmon, good cheeses, brown bread, and salad.
That lunch at The Creel about did me in...
