The Ballinrobe Races
Following a great suggestion by Mary Sheridan who works the front desk at the Clew Bay Hotel, we headed out to the horse races at the neighboring town of Ballinrobe. Races are conducted four times a year at this great facility and we (read I) were fortunate to have attended during their Ladies Night competition. These beautiful local ladies were all dressed to the nines and wearing gorgeous hats a la the Ascot Races in England. Actually, not hats, as Candee has corrected me, but "fascinators." We all placed bets, but it was only Carol who won. A very fun, different, night for us all. Hey Paul Camber - the races were better than the "hen parties" in Westport.
