Slán go fóill - Goodbye for now

The neverendingly debonair and ever so suave (swa-vay) Duffys in a selfie taken at the edge of Clew Bay on the occasion of their anniversary yesterday
Another visit filled with great food, great conversation, and plenty of laughs.  Despite a number of competing demands, we spent a good bit of time with the Duffys, catching up on events, reviewing the year past, and deepening our friendship.  Always a pleasure, an honor, and a blessing to have found these generous, interesting, and fun people.

And just a great visit overall.  Improbably warm and clear weather (as evidenced by many of the photos), the discovery of several new charms in Co Mayo (the Delphi Mountain Resort among them), and feeling more and more at home in this extraordinary corner of Ireland.

Three weeks is indeed a generous time to be on holiday, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have visited Ireland seven times, the last five visits being in the same familiar and comfortable apartment in Westport.  But, I must say, the intervening forty-nine weeks do seem to drag.  It'll seem hopeless from now to Christmas; we'll start looking at airfares in January; and we'll start having some hope beginning in March.  And then, of course, mid-June will arrive and we'll head off.  But it's soooooooooo looooooong til then.
