In to Dublin's Fair City

We spent most of Tuesday driving from our billet in the west in to Dublin on the east coast (if you don't know Ireland, click on the link to the left - "Where are we?"). We stopped in Galway for morning coffee and scones, and in Athlone for lunch. For much of the drive, we had a steady downpour, but, when we reached Dublin, the skies cleared. We have been most fortunate with the weather during this holiday. Candee, Carol, and Stacy found us a great bargain hotel in the city centre, a block off O'Connell Street, two from the River Liffey.

With the full Irish breakfast, no less. After a good dinner, we oriented ourselves and prepared to tour the city on Wednesday. Mom and Candee are standing in front of a statue of James Joyce who Mom has taken to referring to as "Jimmy."
