Kilkenny, the Rock of Cashel, and Bunratty Castle

Busy, busy day. If it's Tuesday, it must be Bunratty. All three sites date from the Norman times in the 1200s. Just awesome beauty and overwhelming history. Can't say I'm tired of it yet. Each place has a compelling history - honor, courage, skullduggery, more.

We got very lucky and found a wonderful b & b in

Bunratty - the Bunratty Castle Mews. The owners are terrific - the man is the manager of Durty Nellie's, one of the most famous old pubs in Ireland - it's just down the road from the b & b. Great people. The Medieval Banquet was a hoot.
