In to the Wicklow Mountains

On Monday evening, we headed into Laragh, just outside the the sacred site of Glendalough. We found a great bed & breakfast, with a superb restaurant nearby. We got an early start into Glendalough on Tuesday morning and were struck with awe and reverence for this early monastic site, dating from the 5th Century. It was where St. Kevin, one of Ireland's most beloved saints, set up an outpost in the "valley of two lakes." Enjoy the accompanying pictures.

Tomorrow we will tour Kilkenny in the morning and then head off to Limerick to enjoy ourselves immensely at the cheesy Medieval Banquet at Bunratty Castle.
