Another thrilling match for Mayo yesterday, with the usual concerning play in the first half followed by championship play in the second. It was an away game in Ennis - a home game for their opponent Co Clare. We didn't travel to the match; we watched it with a small, but cozy, crowd at Madden's Bistro in the Clew Bay Hotel. Mayo will play Co Cork in their next match in two weeks' time. Cork are fierce competitors, so we're hoping that Mayo comes ready to play.
Our condolences to our PP (parish priest) and pastor Fr John Morrissey back in Sebastian, FL. He's a Clare man and it was a tough weekend for the county, with losses in both Gaelic football and hurling (his favorite sport). There's always next year, Father John. Clare could use a good hurler, so pull out your hurley and start getting fit for next season...
