Blessed to be back again

After a lengthy journey, we are back in Westport again.

We got a carhire in Dublin and drove across the island, arriving in Westport at 5 p.m.  After having a heartwarming reception from our friends at the Clew Bay Hotel (our landlords in the Old Mill apartments), we went up to the Duffys for dinner.  We were graced with Padraic's usual expansive fare starting with prawns and smoked salmon with mixed greens to start, followed by a lovely poached salmon with potatoes, root vegetable mash, and steamed and buttered pea pods.  And fresh strawberries and cream for dessert.  It was a grand catching up.

And an early start at the golf.  Usually I wait to try to schedule the golf and end up scrambling to get a round in toward the end of the trip.  Not so this time, with a further three rounds planned in the next week and a half.  Thanks to Candee for being such a trooper and walking along with us for the full 18 holes.

Off now for dinner out with Padraic and Marion, followed by the first night of the Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival.  Always a favorite activity for us when we're here.

When you got it, you got it...
